Description

17th magnitude Comet C/2019 K7 (Smith) is moving northward after its June 17th 2021 perihelion date. The comet will never be closer than now, little over 5 AU from us and the sun (until it's next return? - having a slightly hyperbolic orbit).

I managed to catch C/2019 K7 near a splendid field of galaxies. The tail of the comet is quite spectacular even though the comet is some distance from us and the sun.
